The Present and Future State of the Music Industry

These past few weeks I’ve been wondering what the future of the music industry will look like in the months to come and when this pandemic ends in the (hopefully near) future. The move to such a huge emphasis on live performances and the gathering of people to enjoy music was to create experiences that people would want to spend money on; we all know the actual selling of music doesn’t make the artists anything when compared to concerts, festivals, live events, etc. With all of this on hold, how does the music industry evolve to still be profitable during this time and after?

With streaming down and people not connecting music with movement for things like traveling, commuting, working out, etc. I feel like there could be a shift in how music is truly enjoyed right now and hopefully there could be a music renaissance after this. This is all hopes and dreams and not based off of facts lol but I am definitely going to be looking into what the music industry will look like in the the months to come for the actual artists and all the people connected in the live music/concert mix. What do you think?
